- Largest Protest In World History is against Bush
From Feb 14 to
Feb 16, 2003 more than 12 million people throughout the world turned out to
protest GW Bush's determination to go to war with Iraq. I assume these
people, like myself, were people who were keeping up on the news and knew that
the weapons inspectors were saying there were no WMDs. This was before
the war. “This is unprecedented. Demonstrations only
got this large against the Vietnam War at the height of the conflict, years
after it started”, a spokesperson for International ANSWER, one of the
anti-war groups that organised the protests across the US, told the British
Guardian. (search for largest protest world history) This went
largely unpublicized in the United States.
- Allies think Bush is "Greatest threat to life on
earth"
18 November 2003 Ken Livingstone, the
Mayor of London, launched a stinging attack on President George Bush last
night, denouncing him as the "greatest threat to life on this planet that
we've most probably ever seen". This is what our allies think of us.
Noting the size of the protest from Feb 14 - 16, 2003 I'd say that this mayor
is not the only person that thinks this way.

Council on Foreign Relations says World Opinion "Plummeted"
September 18, 2003 Council on Foreign Relations - "World opinion of the United States and U.S. policy has plummeted in the wake of the U.S.-led war in Iraq. The resulting widespread anger, fear, and mistrust, warns the Council-sponsored Independent Task Force on Public Diplomacy, are creating immediate and long-term problems for the United States that must be addressed urgently."
